Pinspiration For Our Future Home

I really love Pinterest. I've been finding lots and lots of inspiration for projects and decor I'd like to implement in our new house when the times comes. We're under contract now on our new house, but know that it's not official until we actually move in, so I'm trying not to get TOO excited. I'm feeling cautious that I'll get all giddy and then be heartbroken if we can't move in. But you guys, it has a dishwasher! And a garage! And space for a garden!

Whether we move into this house, or eventually into another one - I have lots of ideas - and I'm excited to share them with you.

We plan to paint the entire interior of the house before we move in, so we don't have to worry about it later. It'll be fresh and ready for us. These blues and grays are quickly becoming favorites.

Micah is going to be sharing his bedroom with his little brother or sister (when we find out what we're having in June, I'll be able to have a lot of fun planning their room!) I really want to have a guest room, so that people who come to stay with us don't have to sleep on the couch or on the floor! Since we don't know the new baby's gender yet, I haven't been able to plan ahead too much, but I know I want to incorporate teal and gray (imagine that!), and make some kind of art work like this one for Micah:

Somewhere in a new house I'd like to incorporate peacocks, just a little bit. My grandparents had peacocks when I was a kid and they lived on a farm, so it's kind of a reminiscent animal for me! I love this picture, which I found on Etsy:

For a long time I've been wanting to plant a garden. The last few years I have planted some vegetables in pots, but I didn't have a good place to keep them in the sunshine and near a water source, so they've always died. I'm hoping to have a great garden when we move - and the house we're hoping to move into already has a patch of tilled ground - ready for seeds!

I used this online garden planner to map out how many different kinds of veggies and fruits I can fit. It tells you when to start them inside, and I'm a little bit behind on tomatoes so I need to get the planted, today! If we don't end up moving in here, I'll just put them in pots and be careful to make sure they get enough water.

Maybe someday, just maybe, someday far, far down the road we can got one of these in our new house:

Because really? It's adorable!

You May Be Pinterested...

I know, it's been said.  But the puns and cheesy jokes - my favorite kind, really - with Pinterest are just so easy!

I've been having A LOT of fun on Pinterest - it's a plethera of beautiful kitchens, word art, incredible photos of destinations, and delicious, to-die-for foods:

I found this beautiful graphic, pinned by my good friend, Heather Beal. It's a great representation of my word for the year: JOY. Isn't it beautiful? I love the blue and red together.

Micah's birthday is coming up in August, and I have a board of pins just for planning his woodland (or maybe just hedgehog-themed) birthday party:

I'm also planning a quilt for Micah - maybe for his birthday, but we'll see how quickly I can get to work on it. It'll probably be done around Christmas, so we'll see. It can just be a for-fun present, right? I've been searching online and collecting fabric pins to put together an idea board for his quilt:

I almost feel guilty saying that you should check it out - I know Pinterest has the power to take over your life. David called it "my new love" today. But really, if you like looking at things that are pretty, check it out. If you need in invitation to join, let me know and I'll email you one.

(All images can be found here, on my Pinterest page!)

Just remember - things don't matter. Jesus does.
