Sick Day With Micah

I'm home sick with a cold, sore throat and headache today, but I'm finding out that it's much more fun to be home sick with Micah than by myself. I'm enjoying watching him smile and giggle. :) I just brought in his swing from the shed to see how he likes it... it's a big hit! Here are some pictures and a video from our day at home:

Sorry this video is grainy, it was dark in our room, and I took it on the camera rather than the video camera.

Last night we went to a fun Harvest dinner at the Hutterites' colony. It was delicious, lots of different kinds of food, and they all were delicious. :) Micah was getting tired, and when we got home I set him on my pillow... he wanted to stay!

10 Weeks

Tomorrow Micah is going to be 10 weeks old, and he's getting so big! An update on what he's doing:

* He's smiling all the time! Maverick walked up to him while he was sitting in his chair this morning while I was getting ready for work, and Micah had the biggest smile on his face! He's responding with smiles to faces and noises we're making at him. Yesterday I also heard him laugh for the first time, when I was tickling his little tummy. :)

* He's sitting up on our laps and on the floor (with a lot of help from us). It's been fun to be able to hold him on my lap at the table.

* He's in school! What a great baby he is all morning at school. We have a vibrating bouncy chair for him out there, and he gets moved around quite a bit. As I mentioned before, the kids love having him, and the older girls offer pretty often to have him sit by them while they do their work.

* He's looking much bigger, and he's getting heavier every day!

I took this first picture when he was 2 weeks old... look how tiny he was!  With his arms spread out, he still has lots of room around his head.

This picture was taken last night! (He doesn't sleep in his bassinet any more (it's much to small for him), but I put him in that sleep sack and wanted to see how much bigger he was... his feet are touching the end of the bag... it's supposed to fit until 9 months. I doubt that very much!)

This was taken this afternoon after our field trip.... so happy and sweet!

Pumpkin Patch

We went this afternoon on a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch! This was Micah's first field trip, but he slept the entire time. The girls all really enjoyed having him along - they're all excited to help me carry him and to talk to him. I'm sure the excitement will wear off eventually, but for now they're having a lot of fun having Micah in the class.

Here are some pictures from the trip:

Rainbow Around the Sun

We went to Tri-Cities today for David's cousin Adrienne's wedding, and on the way home saw this beautiful view:

Also, Maverick wanted to look like David this morning, and put on his shirt.

'Cause I'm Wearin' My Brand New Shoes

Micah got a cute little pair of kicks this week, so we did a little photo shoe-t this afternoon in the front yard. (Yes, I know that's a lame joke, but that's my style...)

Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Little _____________ Gone?

This is the unfortunate and constant state of my life... looking for that thing I lost. I'm constantly taking apart the couch, digging through drawers, and wandering around our house picking up items to see if, just maybe, they are covering that thing I lost. Today, as in most days, it was my camera. I had the memory card (it had been in the laptop), but it doesn't do much good on its own. Eventually, after 10 minutes of searching, I found it... on top of the stereo, where I swear I had already looked. It WAS face down, so maybe that's why I didn't see it....

What I need is one of those little thing finders where you clap and it whistles, or you whistle and it claps or something... really I need about a dozen of them. For my camera, video camera, cell phone, three different chargers, my sunglasses, car keys, school keys, David's keys, my purse and the diaper bag. Unfortunately, every time I wanted to find something, I'd be walking around the house clapping and twelve different whistles would go off. Maybe I'm better off just putting things in the same place every time.

Clean and Stylin'

Just out of the bath and feeling good in his Ralph Lauren polo and corduroy pants! What a handsome little man!

Two Months Old

Wow, time flies! Micah is two months old on Sunday, just two days away! I can't believe how much he's grown and changed in such a short time. I was looking back at the first video I posted on here, what a difference! Some of the new things that Micah is doing:

* Sucking on his hand! He's found a new, free toy, which is always there. We recently discovered that sometimes when he's fussy, all we have to do is move his fist to his mouth, and he's happy!

* Talking all the time. Of course, he's not actually saying words, but he is saying consonants in his little sounds now.

* Got his first set of vaccination shots... what a bad evening that was. He was a little fussy in the afternoon, but anytime he was awake in the evening he screamed and screamed: even when he was eating.

* The last two nights he has slept from the time he went to sleep (9:00 or 10:00) until 5:00 in the morning, then back to sleep until 7:30 or 8:00! How nice for Mom to get extra sleep!

Micah (and David and I) got to go visit his Grandpa and Grandma Tevelde in Washington last weekend. It was a long trip, 7 hours each way, but he did really well! He slept almost the entire time that we were driving, and was quite a happy little guy during the visit.

He also got to meet his best friend (pre-selected by me and my good friend Katie), Noah. Noah is three months older than Micah, and was much more aware of Micah than Micah was of him, but we could tell that they're going to enjoy being best friends.

Here are some pictures from the weekend trip:

Cuddling with Aunt Stephanie

And with Grandpa

His Grandma (my mom) and I got to give him a bath in the sink

Micah loved watching football and soccer with his daddy!

with his best friend Noah... Micah's asleep.

Micah slept most of the time we were visiting with Justin, Katie, and Noah. Then he cried when he woke up, and Noah wondered, "What are you doing?"

Happy Baby

We sure do love this baby! He's such a little sweetie, and so incredibly cute!

He can't wait to see his Grandma and Grampa again tonight!

Hippo Footstool

I would love to be able to do some interior design someday, and I found this fun footstool that I'd love to use... Can I fit this into my house? It's on sale for only $395! :)

Maybe David will buy it for me for Christmas?
